  1. How do you like the Turner paints? I have only used Holbein gouache.

  2. @dorkboycomics I haven’t worked with them much myself. You have to keep an eye on the acryl gouache if you want to make smoother transitions, because once dry, they’re impenetrable — it’s the acrylic bit. They’re more matte than the velveteen finish that traditional gouache has when dry, but lovely. The Japanesque line has a bit more texture to them, but I love the colors in the range — they’re softer and more subtle. Worth a go if you’re already accustomed to traditional gouache, and familiar with acrylic.

  3. @mabeloos_mia sounds great, thanks for that!! I have used acrylic, but not too much traditional gouache…just a bit of acryl gouache. I’ll check them out! Thank you :)

  4. @dorkboycomics You’re welcome. You’ll have an easier time with them if you’ve used acrylics, they’re more to the side of acrylic, but easier to clean. Let me know how you get on with them, there’s not a lot out there when it comes to demos. Though @mateusz_urbanowicz has done some amazing sketches using them.

  7. @dorkboycomics Right? I watch his demos repeatedly. I’m waiting for YouTube to ban me.

  8. @mabeloos_mia hahaha – It doesn’t matter how many times I watch, i get to the end of the video and I’m like “I saw every step happen in front of my eyes, but I still don’t know how it happened!”

  9. @dorkboycomics Exactly! If I watch enough times, the technique will magically shoot through my eyes, into my brain, and back out my hands. Yup.
